Rest in Peace

Thu Nov 13, 2008, 8:10 PM
It is not easy working at a wolf sanctuary. Long hours, working in all sorts of weather conditions, and primitive living arrangements all make the job tough. But, by far, the hardest part of the job is saying goodbye to the wolves we had developed such a strong relationship with.

The death of an animal always brings heartbreak. For the older animals, we wish them goodbye, but take solace in knowing that they have had a long, peaceful life. Other deaths are more shocking when they happen unexpectedly.

I have built a strong relationship with several animals at the Sanctuary, but four deaths in particular have really affected me. The fourth death just happened yesterday, when our little girl, Trinity, passed away suddenly. I have had the privilege of watching her grow up, from a squirming ball of fluff to a beautiful wolf with an incredibly sweet personality. It kills me that a girl so young, only one and a half years old, would have her life ended so quickly.

She is with her momma now, Sierra, who passed away when Trinity was four months old. I will never forget her, and only wish I could have done more.

Rest in peace, Trin-Trin.

its a shame there are no wolf sanctuarys around where i live, given the chance i'd ask for a part time job, I help out at a Dog Club, where there are some BEAUTIFUL german shepherds, but, its not quite the same when their all leashed up for training,

I find all sorts of photographers, but haven't seen enough of strictly wolves. You have the knack for wonderful and pristine shots and angles.
